Overview

Taishan Flavor Food Company at 808 57th St, Brooklyn, NY 11220 is the kind of neighborhood spot I’d introduce to anyone who loves simple, fresh, traditional soy-based treats with real character. The place is especially known for its soy milk, tofu, and tofu pudding, and what makes these items stand out is the deep, concentrated soybean flavor that comes through in every bite or sip. Instead of tasting flat or watery, the soy products here have a stronger, more fragrant profile, giving them that comforting homemade quality people look for in classic Asian desserts and snacks. One of the favorites is the dou hua, also known as tofu pudding or do fu fa, which comes soft, silky, and lightly sweet with syrup. It is also reasonably priced, making it an easy stop for a quick treat without spending much. If you like it sweeter, extra syrup is available, and that little detail makes the experience feel flexible and personal. Beyond tofu pudding, Taishan Flavor Food Company also offers items like mochi filled with red bean or peanut, which adds a chewy, nutty, and lightly sweet option to the menu. The fresh rice noodles and soy milk are also worth keeping an eye out for, especially if you enjoy handmade-style foods that feel fresh and comforting. Since popular items can sell out before the listed closing time, I’d recommend going in the morning or early afternoon rather than waiting until later in the day. It has the feel of a small, practical food stop where regulars know exactly what they want, and first-time visitors can discover something genuinely flavorful, affordable, and rooted in familiar Cantonese-style tastes.

Great dou hua/do fu fa for a great price ($3 for a large) If you want extra syrup, it's extra 25 cents. I also get the mochi stuffed with red bean or peanut, about 7 pieces for $6. You used to get 8 pieces for $6 but inflation happened. I've always wanted to try the soymilk and the fresh rice noodles. Next time, for sure. The listing says she's there until 630pm but once she sells out, she leaves, so dont expect her to be there at 6pm. I'd suggest getting there in the morning or Early afternoon if you want to be able to try everything.

Best soy milk , tofu and tofu pudding in the U.S.! They use a type of soy beans that are tinier, not the bigger ones grown in U.S. or Canada. The soy flavor is much more packed and stronger in their soy products! If you wanna buy their soy beans, ask them for a loose 2-pound pack.

Tofu is super silky and soft! The sugar syrup is light probably would ask for extra! Cash only.
