Overview

When I talk about Tacos El Veneno, I like to describe it as the kind of Los Angeles taco spot that feels direct, flavorful, and full of neighborhood character. Located at 541 S Indiana St in Los Angeles, this place has that casual East LA energy where the food is the main reason people come in, and the atmosphere stays relaxed enough for a quick bite, a simple meal with friends, or a satisfying stop when you are craving something bold. What stands out to me is the name itself, because “El Veneno” gives the restaurant a memorable personality before you even order. It feels playful, a little daring, and very fitting for a taco place that wants to leave an impression. I would introduce Tacos El Veneno as a spot for people who appreciate tacos without unnecessary fuss: warm tortillas, savory fillings, fresh toppings, and sauces that can bring heat, brightness, and balance to every bite. Since it sits in Los Angeles, a city known for serious taco culture, the restaurant naturally fits into a dining scene where flavor and authenticity matter. It is the type of place I would recommend when someone asks for something casual but still exciting, especially if they enjoy Mexican food that feels approachable and satisfying. Whether you are nearby, passing through the area, or exploring local eats around Los Angeles, Tacos El Veneno gives off the feeling of a straightforward, flavor-first taqueria where the experience is built around good tacos, quick comfort, and a local street-food spirit that keeps people curious for another order.

Hmmmmmm. Muy sabroso...... Very legit carnitas here! Order the number 2 family meal. It comes with these awesome homemade corn tortillas, delicious beans, moist rice, awesome to die for Nopales (cactus salad, similar to pico de gallo) and 2 lbs of carnitas. It is a smash with the family always. If you ask for the Chicharon longja you will taste a delicious snack on the side. Very legit, and the beans and rice are definitely cooked with that delicious pork lard. Ooooooohhhh Soooooo good. Order ahead by phone takes 20 mins to make the order or eat there. Very friendly staff and very welcoming ming with freeway close access.

Amazing food, every time I’m in town visiting friends we stop in and are treated like family. Best tacos in town, my personal favorite is the carnitas but you can’t go wrong however you choose. Tacos El Veneno will forever be my go to spot.

Delicious food and nice people! I’m a big fan of offal meats and they have some especially good ones. Love their lengua, costilla, buche, y trompa tacos (oddly they don’t offer tripa tacos). I love everything I’ve had it’s all been cooked perfectly and I appreciate that they don’t over season. They have a delicious menudo on the weekends. Can’t speak to their carnitas, asada, al pastor, etc because I’ve never ordered them. All tortillas and salsas are made on site.

I discovered this place after this whole Covid-19 pandemic started. For the cemitas. I've tried them, tacos, mulitas and I must say it's one of the tastier places I've ever visited. The food is just good. They sell carnitas and those meats by the lb. And they have a full fledged Mexican food menu. I definitely recommend this place! They have also done a nice job of adhering to CDC social distancing guidelines and all that stuff. Tables inside are marked off and of course a mask is required. But really.... This is a small price to pay for such delicious food!!!!!!
