Overview

Sopa De Gallina India at 558 E 43rd St, Los Angeles, CA 90011, is the kind of neighborhood restaurant that keeps things simple and comforting. Located in the Historic South-Central area of Los Angeles, this casual spot focuses on home-style Latin American food, with Salvadoran favorites playing a major role on the menu. It feels especially suited to diners who want a filling meal without the fuss of a formal dining experience.

As the name suggests, sopa de gallina india is one of the dishes that defines the restaurant. This traditional soup is prepared with free-range hen and served in a flavorful broth that has the familiar warmth of a home-cooked meal. The chicken gives the soup a deeper, heartier taste than standard chicken soup, while the broth brings everything together in a satisfying way. It is a particularly good choice when you are craving something warm, substantial, and traditional.

Another popular reason to stop by Sopa De Gallina India is the selection of freshly made pupusas. These thick corn cakes are a Salvadoran staple and work well as either a quick bite or part of a larger meal. Their soft interior and lightly cooked exterior create a pleasant contrast in texture, making them an easy option for anyone exploring Salvadoran food for the first time.

The overall atmosphere is casual and neighborhood-friendly rather than polished or upscale. That relaxed setting fits the food well. Meals here are centered on familiar flavors, generous comfort, and dishes that feel connected to everyday Latin American cooking. It is the type of place where soup and pupusas can turn a simple lunch or dinner into something more satisfying.

Sopa De Gallina India is also conveniently located for diners around South Los Angeles looking for traditional flavors in an uncomplicated setting. Whether you come specifically for the signature hen soup or want to enjoy freshly prepared Salvadoran favorites, the menu offers hearty choices built around comforting recipes and familiar ingredients.

I ordered 100 pasapalos for a celebration, and they were a hit! The pasapalos were fresh, delicious, and perfectly prepared, capturing the authentic Venezuelan flavor I was hoping for. The staff provided excellent service throughout the process, making it easy to place and pick up the order. If you’re looking for high-quality Venezuelan bites in Kendall, I definitely recommend El Gochon, especially for catering events—they won’t disappoint!

It wasn't bad at all, but the guy in the counter should be more friendly to give a better service. If they improve that fore sure they can have more 5 stars.

Shoutout to this place. Any day I would rather make the drive from Little Havana to Doral just so I can get some mandocas. Thank you, reminds me of Maracaibo.
