Overview

If you find yourself in Grangeville, Idaho, make your way to The Meat Wagon Food Trailer at 318 E Main St, because this is the kind of spot that quickly earns a loyal following. It has the easygoing charm of a local favorite, but the food delivers with the kind of bold flavor that makes people talk about it long after the meal is over. The burgers are the real stars here, stacked generously with toppings and packed with juicy, satisfying flavor in every bite, and they come with plenty of fries, so you never feel like the kitchen is holding back. One standout choice is the bacon onion jam burger, which brings together savory richness and a touch of sweetness in a way that feels both comforting and memorable. The fry sauce is another detail people enjoy, especially the so-called spicy version, which adds a little kick without overwhelming the meal. Beyond burgers, the menu gives you more reasons to come hungry, including a pretzel platter appetizer that makes a great starter if you want something shareable before diving into the main event. There is also a nice local beer selection that adds to the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and makes this trailer feel like more than just a quick stop for food. What really helps set The Meat Wagon apart is the warmth behind the counter, with owners known for being kind, hardworking, and genuinely attentive, creating the kind of service that makes guests feel appreciated rather than rushed. It is also a place with range, offering delicious baked goods in the morning for those stopping by earlier in the day, then shifting into a dinner destination when cravings call for hearty comfort food. If you have room after the main course, a slice of cheesecake is well worth your attention, and if you are the type who likes coming back to explore more of the menu, the barbecue gives you yet another reason to return.

Tried the burgers and pastries. All are excellent. Family owned with super service. Everything very clean. If you are passing through, be sure to try the cheesecake. Miss it and you will have missed an opportunity to taste the best cheesecake you could have had in your life.

The name is a little awkward but you won’t care once the maple syrup marinaded bacon hits your mouth. Best BLT I’ve had. Waffle sweet potato fries are crispy and perfect. Will be stopping in again when I drive through.

We love this place. The food is amazing. My favorite is the bacon onion jam burger. The owners are great people and make some amazing food. The bakery goods are also amazing, love the muffins and turnovers. Definitely recommend this place.

We have enjoyed dining here. The staff/owners are amazing and fun to chat with. The food we have had has been delicious. There is a reason why they sell out of their baked goods.

I ordered a hamburger well done and it was pink inside. I know many people like it that way but I don't and I am the one paying. I wish I could have gotten my money back.

Our favorite restaurant and THE BEST burger in town! We love their menu and local beer selection. The owners are incredibly kind, hardworking people and the customer service is 5 stars! Grab some of their delicious baked goods in the morning, or stop by for dinner - we love that they serve both. I recommend the bacon onion jam burger and the pretzel platter appetizer...and a slice of their cheesecake if you have room!

Stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday. The 2 staff on hand were friendly and accommodating. Comfortable atmosphere and seating. The biscuits and gravy were good and the breakfast burrito was good sized. Wife tried a gluten free Lemon poppy muffin and it was ok for gluten free. Overall the food was Ok but could use some seasoning to kick it up a notch.

The sweet potato waffle fries, crispy chicken sandwich and the lemon pie was incredible!! If you're in the mood for good food and good service this is your place! Can't recommend more, the fun name doesn't hurt either
