Overview

Cesar’s Empanadas Truck is one of those Brooklyn food stops I’d point you toward when you want something quick, warm, and full of flavor without making a big plan out of it. Parked around 206-238 Metropolitan Ave in Brooklyn, NY, this empanada truck has a friendly street-food feel that makes it easy to walk up, check the menu, and grab a satisfying bite. What I like most is that the empanadas cover both classic comfort and variety, with savory choices like chicken, beef, cheese, vegetables, and bean options, along with sweet empanadas for anyone craving something different after a meal. The plain bean empanada is a great pick, especially if you enjoy simple fillings done well, and the vegan and vegetarian choices make the menu feel more welcoming for different tastes. Each empanada has that easy handheld style that works for lunch, a snack, or a casual bite while walking through the neighborhood.

The food is tasty, but the service adds a lot to the experience too. The women working the cart are known for being warm, cheerful, and genuinely friendly, which gives the place a personal charm you do not always get from a busy food truck. The empanadas are usually around four dollars each, so it feels affordable enough to try more than one flavor. I would also recommend asking for the spicy sauce, because it brings a nice kick and pairs especially well with the savory fillings. Even when a favorite option is not ready, there is a chance they can make it fresh, which makes the stop feel even more special. Between the crispy, filling empanadas, the mix of meat and plant-based choices, and the welcoming service, Cesar’s Empanadas Truck fits right into the casual Brooklyn food scene.

Best of the best. I dream about them. They are not your average empanada. Crispy, soft, perfect amount of filling. They always taste so fresh

The woman who works here is incredibly nice. Every time I come, she greets me with the biggest smile. I always feel so good after passing by. She makes the empanadas in the cart throughout the day so they are pretty fresh. Last time I went, she made the ones that I wanted fresh. They are not oily, nor dry, overall really tasty classic empanadas. She takes card and Apple Pay as well. Empanadas are between $3 and $3.50

Always amazing and very delicious. They have vegan and vegetarian empanadas as well, which I love. Definitely ask for the spicy sauce. It is excellent! I always get the plain bean empanada. Even if they’re out of stock, they’ll make one fresh for you. It’s so wonderful and they are so friendly.

Randomly found this spot while leaving the Apple Store and it’s easily the best Empanadas I’ve ever had in NYC. Lots of variety like chicken, beef and shrimp and they even had vegetarian options. It’s out of my way but I would definitely comeback for more.

My favorite empanada place in the city. I bike across the Williamsburg bridge just to get empanadas from Cesar’s. The lady is super nice, the empanadas are large, and the prices are affordable. I love the classic chicken and beef empanadas and sometimes go for chicken/beef and spinach.
