Chinatown Snacks, at 357 Grand St, New York, NY 10002, is the kind of spot that quietly wins people over with charm, personality, and a menu that feels both thoughtful and satisfying. From the moment you step inside, the place stands out for its distinctive interior, which draws inspiration from the look and feel of a classic food cart while still keeping the space welcoming and relaxed. It has the energy of a neighborhood favorite, somewhere casual enough for a quick bite yet memorable enough to make you want to linger over your drink and decide what to try next. The menu brings together comfort, quality, and a sense of care, with items like musubi offering a well-portioned and affordable lunch that is filling without feeling heavy. The spicy tuna onigiri is especially notable, delivering bold flavor in a way that feels fresh and satisfying, while the egg salad has an authenticity that gives it extra character. Drinks are just as much a part of the experience here. The teas are full of flavor and have a depth that makes them stand out from what you might expect at an ordinary tea shop, and the bubble tea is balanced nicely, with sweetness that complements rather than overwhelms. What also makes Chinatown Snacks appealing is the people behind it. The staff are approachable, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to, creating an atmosphere that feels genuinely warm instead of overly polished. There is a strong sense of local pride here, the kind of independent business that adds flavor to the neighborhood in more ways than one. For anyone exploring the Lower East Side and craving a snack, lunch, or a tea break with a little more personality, Chinatown Snacks brings together flavorful food, carefully made drinks, and a setting that feels original and full of character.

Love this place! The teas are delicious and retain a lot of flavour and character that most tea shops don't. The musubi is really nicely portioned and makes for an affordable lunch that's pretty filling. Worth the trip!

I unfortunately can only give this place 5 stars. Other than the amazing food and authentic Taiwanese bubble tea, the service and atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, a great place to just vibe. The owner is a very kind and community oriented individual and it translates into the space and how it presents. If you’re in the area, definitely worth stopping by and checking out the offerings. They also have really cool, high quality clothing (Chinatown Social) worth buying! Best part is the prices are very reasonable for FRESH daily made food, especially when you consider the area. 11/10, highly recommended. If you’re going to try out the food(as you should!), my favorites are: rice noodles and fish balls, kimchi onigiri, and the egg sando. For tea, I love a green tea with passion fruit and lychee jellies and pearls.

Go support this local business!! I had such a great experience. The staff, food and atmosphere are all wonderful. The interior is really unique, playing on the classic food cart. The owner and staff are really easy to talk to and very knowledgeable on the menu. Hands down, the best spicy tuna onigiri I have ever had . The egg salad tastes very authentic to what I had in Tokyo. Don’t forget the bubble tea! Very tasty and the perfect amount of sweetness. I will definitely be coming back asap!

we love this neighborhood gem and stop by whenever we get a snack attack and want some realness. This is what the kids in the neighborhood grew up on. Our son loves the onigiri.

Amazing tea, really good onigiri, and the warmest friendliest most neighborly owners ever. Definitely stop in here, become a regular, keep this place running for a good long while!
