The Madison 801, located at 801 N Chester St, Baltimore, MD 21205, brings together an upscale-casual dining atmosphere and a menu filled with dishes that draw from comforting, flavor-forward combinations. The dining room has been described as quaint and elegant, creating a relaxed setting that can work for both smaller meals and larger gatherings. Among the notable dishes are braised oxtails served with wild rice, featuring a sauce with a subtle spicy kick that is balanced by the rice, while sautéed broccoli and candy yams provide flavorful accompaniments. Red snapper is another seafood option that has attracted attention, adding variety alongside the restaurant's meat-focused selections. The menu also extends into brunch-style choices, including steak and eggs as well as chicken paired with a funnel cake waffle, giving diners both savory classics and sweeter combinations to explore. Crab Rangoons stand out as another distinctive item, prepared with real crab rather than relying heavily on cream cheese or imitation seafood. Presentation receives considerable attention here, with dishes arranged carefully before arriving at the table, while portions are generally described as generous. Service is another recurring part of the experience, with staff providing attentive assistance throughout meals and accommodating larger parties when needed. The combination of polished presentation and approachable comfort food gives The Madison 801 a versatile identity, with oxtails, seafood, steak, chicken, vegetables, and brunch-inspired dishes appearing across the dining experience. Its location on North Chester Street places it in Baltimore, where the intimate dining space provides the backdrop for everything from crab Rangoons and steak and eggs to sauced oxtails with rice and traditional sides.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Madison 801 in East Baltimore, and it was an experience to remember. The atmosphere was stylish yet welcoming, and you could feel the passion behind every detail of the space. I started with the crab wontons, and they were incredible—crispy on the outside with a rich, flavorful filling that hit all the right notes. For my main course, I ordered the lamb chops, and they were cooked to perfection: tender, juicy, and seasoned beautifully. You could tell a lot of care went into the preparation. I didn’t try any of the fruity tea blends like watermelon kiwi, but the drink selection still offered a great variety. What really stood out was the service—attentive, friendly, and genuinely focused on making sure I had a great experience. The Madison 801 isn’t just a brunch spot—it’s a full vibe with elevated food, thoughtful service, and a strong sense of community. I highly recommend checking it out if you’re in Baltimore

I can’t stop thinking about these potatoes. Just look at them - flakey, buttery, crispy. Breakfast sandwich was also perfect. This creamy red sauce paired with my brunch choices were the perfect combinations; highly recommend. Wife was pleased w bananas foster French toast. Drinks also on point. Presentation to quality ingredients make 801 a must try.

They understood the assignment! Let me go ahead and put y’all on!! My brother invited me for breakfast and made the reservation. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for an experience, not just a meal. The energy was immaculate. The vibes was giving grown, classy, and wrapped in Black excellence! IFKYK My man Myles with a Y was my server and he was top-tier. He was very attentive without being overbearing, super sweet and genuine without trying too hard, and he moved like he actually enjoyed being there. You ever have a server that makes you feel like the most important table in the room? That was Myles! Protect him at all costs, given you don't always get great servers who actually like their job. He was everything!! And then Shareef, the owner. Yes... the one who owns the actual Shareef's that has the rotisserie chicken to die for!!?...He owns this one too! So u know the food is gonna touch your soul! That man has charisma, class, and the kind of interpersonal skills that make you wanna invest in whatever he’s doing! Genuinely such a great and uplifting business man! We chopped it up for a bit and let me tell you, it’s clear he and his wife takes pride in this place. It shows with how he speaks, how he tended to our table, how he ensured we were taken care of during the entire visit and dropped gems to help me with a business question I had. I even had the pleasure of speaking with his wife via FaceTime while I was there, and she was just as lovely and ridiculously beautiful. You could feel the love in the way they move. That’s Black love and Black business done right. #Goals The restaurant itself gives high-end decor, more like this is luxury, stay a while. The bathrooms were clean and stocked. Y’all know that matters and can truly ruin an experience when everything else is going great. Now let’s get to the food, because chileeeeee, my belly is still poking after my meal! I ordered the steak, eggs & potatoes (because why not be a little bougie on a Sunday? Lol), I threw in a side of grits and turkey sausage. Everything was cooked to perfection! His Chef deserves a kiss on the forehead for this one! The steak was seasoned like somebody knew what they were doing in that kitchen. Juicy, tender, and paired perfectly with those creamy grits and turkey sausage. My potatoes hit!!! Idk what seasoning they put on it, but they had my taste buds dancing. I was full yet sat there for a while trying to plan my next visit . Big back behavior! My brother ordered the banana crème brûlée French toast with yams and listen, there wasn’t a crumb left on that plate! He didn't need syrup at all which tells you everything you need to know. He devoured it like it owed him money. The hibiscus tea was a staple for me. I’m talking rich, refreshing, slightly floral and delicious. I’m already craving it again! The Madison 801 is going on my list of fav places! Side note, I absolutely love the name. It just flows and sounds upscale! I’ll absolutely be back and next time, I’m bringing a cute lil crew because some things are just too good not to share! Thank you for making my 1st experience here one to remember. See yall soon!

The braised oxtails with wild rice were delicious. The sauce on the oxtails had a slightly spicy kick that was cooled by the rice. Even the sautéed broccoli was good—good flavor. Others who were with me loved their food, too. The red snapper was good, and I only eat salmon! I look forward to going back to try other things....forgot to mention the candy yams is also a must try!

I found this restaurant today on Instagram and knew I had to go! Everything I had was sooooo good! I had such a hard time even picking what I wanted, I want to try the whole menu! I had the steak and eggs and the crab Rangoons (which did not have imitation crab or a bunch of cream chees by the way, amazing!) and my friend had the chicken and funnel cake waffle. Everything was literally a 10 out of 10. I’ll definitely be back and I’ll be telling all my foodie friends

Fantastic Dining Experience at The Madison 801! I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Madison 801, a newly opened black-owned restaurant that truly exceeded all expectations! The quaint and elegant dining space creates a relaxing upscale-casual vibe that's perfect for any occasion. Our server, Sydney, provided top-tier service that made our experience even more enjoyable. Now, let’s talk about the food—OMG! The presentation was so beautiful that we almost didn’t want to eat it, but once we took that first bite, we were hooked! The flavors were amazing, and the portion sizes were generous, leaving everyone in our party of ten completely satisfied. The Madison 801 was also incredibly accommodating to our large group, making the entire evening seamless and enjoyable. We will definitely be back for more! Thank you for a wonderful experience! All I can say is the customer service was phenomenal, the acai bowl was one of THEE BEST that I've ever had, and the green tea was perfect to warm me up on this cold 3rd day of the new year. The grilled chimchurri cauliflower steak with broccolini and wild rice is a MUST. You don't even have to be vegan or vegetarian!! It's THAT good. I'm definitely coming back to this spot.
